Welcome!
I am director of
research and development at Pismo Software, a
Research and development consultancy firm. Previously, I
worked as a lecturer at Loughborough University. Prior to this, as a product
manager in the Media Processing Division at ARM in Cambridge and before this
as a postdoctoral research fellow in the Advanced Interfaces Group
at The University of Manchester.
My research is motivated by a keen desire to create effective
virtual enviroments. This has led me to cultivate an
interest in the ways in which human perception can be exploited to create compelling
graphics and tactile interfaces. Towards this aim, my work has
spanned a diverse range of areas including computational
photography, 3D reconstruction/imaging, material acquisition
and modelling, visual perception, real-time/massive-model rendering, collaborative virtual
reality, haptic interaction, and physically based modelling.
My projects page or the online version of my academic
CV has further information about my work.
I have had the privilege of serving the computer graphics professional community as chairperson of the ACM SIGGRAPH University of Manchester Professional Chapter, and also the international graphics community in a range of ACM and ACM SIGGRAPH committee roles.
